Introduction of Barret Wallace

Barret Wallace is one of the playable characters in the series Final Fantasy VII. Barret is also the leader of an eco-terrorist group called AVALANCHE, which is trying to prevent Shinra Electric Power Company from using the Mako, which is the planet of Gaia’s life source, as a form of energy. 

Barret’s seemingly benevolent cause of fighting for the Planet is a cover for his personal vendetta, temper, and anger, which he later must come to terms with. Instead of being his brash and sometimes egoistic violent attitude, Barret has also a good heart and got torn between fighting and caring for his daughter whose name is Marlene.

Barret Wallace was voiced by Masahiro Kobayashi in the Japanese version, by Beau Billingslea in Compilation of the Final Fantasy VII, and John Eric Bentley in Final Fantasy VII remake of the English version of it.

Barret Wallace: Appearance

 Their original appearance is that he has a heavy-set, muscular build dark-skinned man with an ugly brown vest, green pants, and with a pair of large brown boots. Barret’s right arm got mangled in the loss of his hometown and has been got replaced with his weapon, the gun arm, which lets him interchange the several weapon attachments to it.

Barret also has several bands of metal around his waist and in his remaining arm, and a tattoo inked on his left shoulder. Barret’s hair is cut the same to a hi-top fade. He has a thick beard, as well as two he has dog-tags around his neck. Barret has three scars on his right cheek. He does wear a silver hoop earring in his left ear.

In the anime series Final Fantasy VII Remake, a few modifications and changes are made to this: Barret wears sunglass, also a black tank under his vest, cargo-style pants, and zipper-black-styled boots. On his remaining part of the arm, he wears a leather bracer with some tiny metal plates strapped on top of it instead of the simple and sober bonds of metal, and his basic gun arm resembles a modern rotary-style machine gun.

In the anime series Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and a Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-, his gun arm is replaced with a transforming steel hand that can transform or change into a large gun at his desire and will. Barret’s vest has got replaced by a puffier, off-white one, and he also wears a fish-net shirt under it, though he always retains the green pants. His hair is somewhat differently styled and is now arranged in cornrows.

Personality

Barret Wallace is displayed early in the anime series Final Fantasy VII as a brash, gruff man with quick anger and the ability to curse. He is frequently prone to firing his gun-arm into the air in fits of rage with catching the attention of everyone surrounding him. Barret founded the eco-terrorist group that is called AVALANCHE.

In order to hinder the Mako technology, which he truly believes to be killing Gaia. Firstly, he distrusts and dislikes the Cloud, believing him to be nothing more than a heartless mercenary-for-hire, but eventually, it changes his opinion of him for the better of it. After AVALANCHE disbands, Barret chooses to continue his mission to save the Planet by trying to find a new energy power source to replace and change Mako.
